Works best in a in 50-80ft of water (15-25 meters). This jig is designed to target fluke, black sea amberjack, grouper, tuna (~up to 110lbs), skipjack, red snapper, cod and haddockwhen fishing deep waters. Best when used vertically when fishing from a boat or kayak. Fish the squid jig by control dropping to the bottom and reeling up 2-3 feet of line. Continue to raise it through the water column in 2-3ft increments. We have observed best results when moving it slowly through the water column with gentle nudges to the rod tip.
